According to UNCTAD’s 2013 World Investment Report , Africa is one of the few regions to enjoy year–over-year growth in foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows since 2010. FDI into Africa grew to $50 billion in 2012, an overall 5 percent increase from 2011. FDI increased into North, Central and East Africa, but declined into West and Southern Africa.
